RISK/Gang
Prevention
RISK/Gang
Prevention is a set of services designed to reach youths and
their families who are at-risk of involvement in or are involved
in gang activities, violence, illegal acts and/or other related
activities.
The purpose of the program is to expand current services that
are available to youths and their families in order to set the
foundation for a community-based, comprehensive, nonviolent/gang
prevention approach. CAASTLC
has joined forces with the education system (principals, teachers,
and counselors) to provide prevention and intervention strategies
to reduce the number of youths who are becoming involved in
gang activities, violence, illegal acts and/or other related
activities. Local community centers, religious
organizations, apartment complexes, recreational and service
providers also form a vital component of this network. Components
of this program include education, intervention, stabilization,
and empowerment.
Eligibility Requirements - Household income may not exceed 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Please go to our "Income Guidelines"
page for a complete listing of income guidelines.

Weatherization
Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program is designed to reduce the impact of high home energy costs for low-income residents by implementing energy-efficient measures that may include reducing air infiltration, installing insulation, heating system replacement, water heater tank upgrade, and minimal building envelope repairs.
With owner approval, low-income renters as well as homeowners are eligible. After certification of eligibility, each home is assessed by CAASTLC to determine the appropriate services. Professional, bonded and insured contractors perform the actual services. Each completed job must pass a final inspection for materials and workmanship by CAASTLC. Dwellings are prioritized for services based on winter energy consumption, elderly or disabled household members, and other factors. No dwelling may be weatherized more than once, except those weatherized prior to September 30, 1994. If you are interested, please call (314) 863-0015, ext. #436. Or you can print and complete the application as instructed below.
