Under the Individual Development Account program, the participant opens a savings account called an IDA. The participant then deposits at least $10 per month into the account. Those dollars are then matched based on the specific program the individual enrolls in, up to $2,000 per year. CAASTLC matches every $1 deposited with either $1 or $2 for the next two years. The participant can use the savings (matched money included) to acquire the asset they are saving for. Participants must be in the program for at least 6 months and complete class requirements before being eligible for matching funds.
